listen for dust
I walk
to taste used text
feeling spaces
soliciting phantom sound
shimmering, splashing
flowing against the grain
the beautiful tough is not lost
in past shadow lines
the source can change in an instant
free falling to enter bent grace
you know the fragile order of things
is not pretty, not neutral
[so] dig up caution, segue into the wonderland
and listen for dust

Today I started working with some of my random files. These are words I’ve photographed with my phone camera & gathered since June 18th, 2014 and were words that simply caught my attention, even if I wasn’t out intentionally text walking. They form a kind of miscellaneous gathering of bits — moments from various days over the past few years, when something just snagged my mind or caught my eye — and thus they became a part of my growing random files.
I’ve decided to post what I wrote from some of those words today, even though this feels very much in process at this point.

I’ve been audio recording tonight, readings of a few poems, including this one – listen for dust – so I thought I’d share this recording here on my website.
